The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will be hosting a 2-day training event on Thursday, November 19, and Friday, November 20, 2015, at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront hotel in Baltimore, MD.
The focus of the train-the-trainer training hosted by CMS on November 19, 2015, is to provide LTCHs with assessment-based data collection instructions and updates associated with the changes in the April 1, 2016 release of the LTCH CARE Data Set V 3.0 and other reporting requirements of the LTCH Quality Reporting Program (QRP).
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will present on November 20, 2015, on current and new quality measures as well as the use of the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) for submitting data associated with these measures. This is an information webinar for attendees to learn more about an open request for proposals for the Aging Mastery Program AMP. AMP is a nationwide program that includes a 10-week core curriculum to teach participants about ways to enhance their health, financial well-being, social connectedness, and overall quality of life. The goal of this webinar is to promote this initiative in 39 small towns and rural areas in Minnesota, Washington, and Wisconsin. The Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured released a report that provides an overview of Medicaid enrollment and spending during state Fiscal Years (FY) 2015 and 2016. The results were gathered from interviews with state Medicaid directors as part of the 15th annual survey of Medicaid directors. Enrollment and spending significantly increased in Fiscal Year 2015, which was the first full year that the Affordable Care Act expansions were implemented.
