Also, as seniors get 1 year older, medical expenses are likely to increase. I think before such a decision is made, the "decider" should be required to fill up his gas tank, drive to the grocery store, stop off at the pharmacy and just spend a day in the real world. I am disabled and trying to care for my mother on the measly check I receive from social security. My mother received very little also. She has worked 40 years and I have worked 31 years until I became disabled. Yes, we are thankful what we receive. The only major problem I have is that my tax dollars goes to support others who does not want to work. I cannot receive food stamps because I make $8.00 a month too much.
